Schedule Tasks Mudah dengan Gnome-schedule di Ubuntu

Ada kalanya terkadang kita disibukkan akan pekerjaan yang menyita banyak waktu, sementara pekerjaan lain juga membutuhkan perhatian kita, dalam kesempatan kali ini saya akan menulis artikel tentang schedule task, apa itu?mungkin bagi sebagian teman-teman yang lain sudah mengerti tentang pengertian schedule task, disini saya tidak akan memaparkan apa pengertian dari schedule task itu sendiri, tetapi lebih pada cara menginstall dan menggunakannya.

jika kita menggunakan sistem operasi windows, hal semacam ini akan dengan mudah kita lakukan,kenapa?karena di windows sudah mendukung tampilan GUI (graphical user interfaces), sementara apa yang akan kita lakukan ini di linux, tetapi jangan berkecil hati, dilinuxpun kita bisa menggunakan schedule task dengan tampilan GUI.

lalu apa fungsi dari schedule task?kita melakukan scanning virus tanpa harus melakukan scanning manual, atau lebih ekstremnya kita bisa melakukan compile kernel tanpa harus compile manual,

mari kita lakukan langkahnya:

pertama buka terminal dan ketik baris berikut

sudo apt-get install gnome-schedule

masukan password root dan tunggu prosesnya, jika sudah selesai anda akan mendapatkan tampilan seperti berikut:

Hallo semuanya...

sudah lama tidak update blog yang satu ini, baiklah kali ini saya akan menulis artikel tentang gmail client di ubuntu,sebenarnya tanpa bantuan gmail client pun kita masih bisa memanajemen email, tetapi aplikasi ini akan sangat membantu manajemen email kita...

oke cukup segitu saja basa-basinya..:D

langsung saja..langkah pertama kali adalah seperti biasa kita buka terminal, caranya temen-temen semua pasti sudah pada ngerti..:D

ketik baris berikut pada terminal:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:loneowais/gmailwatcher.dev

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install gmailwatcher

Tunggu prosesnya sampai selesai, jika berhasil akan seperti gambar berikut:

MPlayer is a movie and animation player that supports a wide range of codecs and file formats, including MPEG 1/2/4,DivX 3/4/5, Windows Media 7/8/9, RealAudio/Video up to 9, Quicktime 5/6, and Vivo 1/2. It has many MX/SSE (2)/3Dnow(Ex) optimized native audio and video codecs, but allows using XAnim’s and RealPlayer’s binary codec plugins, and Win32 codec DLLs. It has basic VCD/DVD playback functionality, including DVD subtitles, but supports many text- based subtitle formats too. For video output, nearly every existing interface is supported. It’s also able to convert any supported files to raw/divx/mpeg4 AVI (pcm/mp3 audio), and even video grabbing from V4L devices.

Install Mplayer in Ubuntu 11.10 (Oneiric)

You have to make sure you have enabled universe,multiverse repositories

Now you need to run the following command to update the source list

sudo apt-get update

Install mplayer using the following command

sudo apt-get install mplayer

Install w32 video codecs and libdvdcss2 in Ubuntu 11.10

Support for WMV, RealMedia and other formats has been bundled into the w32codecs package. This package is not available from the Ubuntu repositories due to licensing and legal restrictions.To play encrypted DVDs, the libdvdcss2 package is essential.

The following command adds Medibuntu’s repository to Ubuntu. It also adds Medibuntu’s GPG key to your keyring, which is needed to authenticate the Medibuntu packages.

sudo wget http://www.medibuntu.org/sources.list.d/$(lsb_release -cs).list --output-document=/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list

sudo apt-get -q update

sudo apt-get --yes -q --allow-unauthenticated install medibuntu-keyring

sudo apt-get -q update

You may also wish to add the following packages. The first will cause many apps from the Medibuntu repository to appear in Ubuntu Software Center (Ubuntu 9.10+) or Add/Remove Applications (versions prior to 9.10). The second will allow users to generate crash reports against Medibuntu packages and submit them to the Medibuntu bugtracker.

sudo apt-get --yes install app-install-data-medibuntu apport-hooks-medibuntu

Please note you may have to use --force-yes instead of --yes in order for this command to succeed.
For i386 Users install Codecs using the following command

sudo apt-get install w32codecs libdvdcss2

For amd64 Users install Codecs using the following command

sudo apt-get install w64codecs libdvdcss2

Using above download locations you can install most of the mutimedia codecs for ubuntu.

Mplayer Plugin for Firefox

If you want to install Mplayer with plug-in for Mozilla Firefox run the following command

sudo apt-get install mozilla-mplayer

how to install this application, please follow the following command:
The first open a terminal and type the following lines
sudo apt-get install desktopnova desktopnova-gnome-module

if it is done, you are also required to install DesktopNova Indicator
still remain in the terminal, type the following line
     sudo add-apt-repository ppa: michael-astrapi/ppa
       sudo apt-get update
       sudo apt-get install indicators-desktopnova

You need to edit /etc/apt/sources.list

gksudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Add the following line

Cara Install GNOME 3 di Ubuntu 10.04

salam jumpa kembali..udah lama banget ne ga nulis-nulis artikel tentang linux, pada kesempatan ini saya akan menulis artikel bagaimana caranya menginstall GNOME 3 di ubuntu 10.04, setelah melihat ubuntu versi 11.04 rasanya saya kepengen juga untuk menginstall GNOME 3, daripada harus install fresh ubuntu, mendingan kita install desktopnya aja..:D oke langsung saja

Berikut langkah - langkahnya :
1. Seperti biasa buka terminal dan ketik baris berikut
sudo apt-get install gnome-shell

2. Sebelumnya pastikan dulu anda tidak mengaktifkan visual effect pada sistem

anda, caranya klik kanan pada desktop dan pilih change desktop background

kemudian pilih none, ini untuk menghindari crash pada saat menginstall

gnome-shell

3. Setelah selesai menginstall, langkah selanjutnya adalah buka

System->Preferences->startup application
4. Kemudian klik add, untuk nama tulis gnome-shell dan untuk command tulis
gnome-shell --replace, kemudian klik add
5. Jangan lupa tanda centang harus tercentang jika ingin mengaktifkan
perubahan dari gnome-shell
6. logout dari sistem anda dan login ulang dengan username yang sama
dan GNOME 3 akan otomatis di aktifkan.

Recompile Virtualbox kernel Modul

Salam Jumpa..

Setelah saya mencoba update kernel linux, hal yang ku takutkan tentang virtualbox akhirnya terjadi, yaitu pesan error kernel modul dan virtualbox tidak bisa berjalan,sebelumnya saya pernah mengalami hal seperti ini, biasanya dengan menginstall paket DKMS permasalahan tersebut langsung selesai..tetapi ga tau kenapa untuk versi yang 4 ini gak mau jalan dengan metode tersebut...
agak pusing juga..akhirnya saya memberanikan diri merecompile ulang virtualbox kernel modul, dengan perasaan was-was akhirnya metode itu kucoba..
langsung saja ini caranya..
Buka terminal dan masuk sebagai root

$sudo su 

masukkan password root
# /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup
Stopping VirtualBox kernel module          [ OK ]
Recompiling VirtualBox kernel module       [ OK ]
Starting VirtualBox kernel module          [ OK ]

Tunggu sejenak..

jika sudah OK semua berarti recompile berjalan sukses..

buka virtualbox dan jalankan machine virtual anda

wah udah lama banget ne aku ga update blog yang satu ini...hehehe..sok2 sibuk gan..wkwkwkkw
kali ini saya akan menulis artikel tentang Apache, masih dilinux tentunya..:D
kenapa saya pilih judul ini gan, karena setahu saya Apache for linux tuh lum ada yang versi GUI nya untuk urusan seting menyeting...kecuali xampp for linux lho..:D

Apt-fast and Axel: Faster apt-get Installations and Upgrades

Apt-fast script that combines the power of the axel download manager with the stability of apt-get.
Install axel in ubuntu
First you need to install axel in ubuntu using the following comamnd from your terminal

sudo apt-get install axel

Now you need to download apt-fast script from here.Then, just place the script somewhere (/usr/bin or /usr/sbin is ideal), rename it to apt-fast (without the .sh extension)

sudo mv apt-fast.sh apt-fast

now you need to change the permissions to downloaded script

sudo chmod +x apt-fast

Using apt-fast
Once done, just use it like apt-get. To install a single package, make sure your database is up to date (apt-fast update), and run apt-fast install packagenamehere. Watch it download with incredible speed, and install your requested packages. To upgrade or dist-upgrade, do the same thing. Just use apt-fast dist-upgrade or apt-fast upgrade.
Should your download stall for any number of reasons, you’ll need to do an apt-fast clean.

3 langkah mudah membuka password windows dengan ubuntu

Terkadang kita dihantui dengan sifat lupa dan itu adalah hal yang lumrah, tetapi jika sifat lupa itu datang di saat kita akan membuka komputer / laptop windows yang terproteksi password apalagi didalamnya terdapat puluhan bahkan ribuan data penting kita...

apa yang akan kita lakukan?? kalau kita terbiasa menggunakan sistem operasi yang bebas alias free seperti LINUX hal ini akan dengan mudah diatasi...ada beberapa langkah mudah dan cepat..yang anda butuhkan hanyalah kesabaran dan ketelitian..:D

oke ini 3 langkah mudahnya:

1)Persiapkan cd Live /usb Live linux anda, dalam hal ini saya memakai Ubuntu 10.04,tapi pada dasarnya semua versi LINUX sama..cd Live ini nantinya yang akan digunakan untuk membongkar password windows anda...

2)Install aplikasi Open Source chntpw dengan menjalankan Synaptic Package Manager Ubuntu
sebelumnya lakukan penyetingan repository, caranya dengan mengklik menu Settings > Repositories pada jendela Synaptic, kemudian, centang pilihan 'Community-maintained Open Source software (universe)' dan klik Close

Jika sudah selesai, tekan tombol Reload dan Synaptic akan mendownload informasi paket terbaru dari Universe,Setelah selesai, ketikkan chntpw pada kotak Search.
centang kotak di sisi tulisan chnptw, pilih 'Mark for Installation'. Lalu klik Apply untuk menginstalnya

3) Ubah password Windows anda dengan chntpw
Caranya :
1. Mount hardisk / drive instalasi Windows Anda, caranya buka hardisk / drive dan kemudian simpan label drive yang muncul di menu bar jendela file browser
/ naitilus
3. Buka Terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal)
4. Ketik perintah berikut pada Terminal:
$cd / media
ls
5. Ketik: cd [nama label yang anda simpen tadi]
6. ketik: cd WINDOWS/system32/config
7. Untuk mengubah password Administrator anda, ketikkan perintah: sudo chntpw SAM
8. Nanti Akan muncul beberapa perintah yang bisa Anda pilih, cara paling aman adalah dengan meremove password lama di komputer windows anda, caranya dengan menekan angka '1', pada pilihan yang ada lalu tekan 'y' untuk konfirmasi
9. Pilih '2' untuk mengubah password lama ke password baru anda, namun cara ini adalah cara untuk user advanced
10. Untuk mengubah password user lain, ketikkan perintah berikut di terminal sudo chntpw –u [nama user] SAM

MPlayer is a movie and animation player that supports a wide range of codecs and file formats, including MPEG 1/2/4,DivX 3/4/5, Windows Media 7/8/9, RealAudio/Video up to 9, Quicktime 5/6, and Vivo 1/2. It has many MX/SSE (2)/3Dnow(Ex) optimized native audio and video codecs, but allows using XAnim’s and RealPlayer’s binary codec, and Win32 codec DLLs. It has basic VCD/DVD playback functionality, including DVD subtitles, but supports many text- based subtitle formats too. For video output, nearly every existing interface is supported. It’s also able to convert any supported files to raw/divx/mpeg4 AVI (pcm/mp3 audio), and even video grabbing from V4L devices.

Install Mplayer in Ubuntu 10.10 (Maverick)
You have to make sure you have enabled universe,multiverse repositories
Now you need to run the following command to update the source list

Install mplayer using the following command

Have you ever needed the standard Microsoft fonts such as Times New Roman on your Ubuntu computer? Here’s how you can easily add the core Microsoft fonts to Ubuntu.
Times New Roman, Arial, and other core Microsoft fonts are still some of the most commonly used fonts in documents and websites. Times New Roman especially is often required for college essays, legal docs, and other critical documents that you may need to write or edit.
Ubuntu includes the Liberation alternate fonts that include similar alternates to Times New Roman, Arial, and Courier New, but these may not be accepted by professors and others when a certain font is required. But, don’t worry; it only takes a couple clicks to add these fonts to Ubuntu for free.

Installing the Core Microsoft Fonts

Microsoft has released their core fonts, including Times New Roman and Arial, for free, and you can easily download these from the Software Center. Open your Applications menu, and select Ubuntu Software Center.

In the search box enter the following:

Click Install on the “Installer for Microsoft TrueType core fonts” directly in the search results.

ok berikut caranya
buka terminal dan ketik perintah berikut
$sudo apt-get install amarok
masukkan password root
jika sudah selesai instalasinya, coba jalankan Amarok anda, ups apa yang terjadi? Amarok tidak bisa memutar file mp3 dll...
tenang, tidak usah panik
ketik perintah berikut

sudo apt-get install libxine1-ffmpeg

Recovery GRUB di Ubuntu 10.04

Ada kalanya komputer kita tidak bisa booting karena permasalahan grub yang rusak, jalan keluarnya yang ekstrem adalah install ulang ..huh.. , ada secercah harapan agar kita tidak langsung install ulang, salah satunya adalah recovery grub...gmna caranya?apalagi ini ubuntu 10.04, yang memakai grub2 ?

oke langsung aja...

cari partisi linux anda dengan perintah $fdisk -l

asumsi partisi boot anda ada di /sda1, trus ketik perintah berikut

mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/
grub-install --root-directory=/mnt /dev/sda

mount partisi root(/) anda
sudo mount /dev/sda2 /mnt

selanjutnya lakukan mount terhadap partisi /boot, ketik perintah berikut

sudo mount /dev/sda1 /mnt/boot

selanjutnya ketik perintah berikut

sudo mount --bind /dev /mnt/dev

selanjutnya pindah dari root (/) ke (/mnt)

sudo chroot /mnt

selanjutnya,reconfigure grub, ketik perintah berikut

dpkg-reconfigure grub-pc

selanjutnya akan keluar jendela configure grub

selanjutnya lakukan umount device yang kita mount tadi, ketik perintah berikut

sudo umount /mnt/dev
sudo umount /mnt

Reboot komputer anda, dan tunggu....grub2 anda akan kembali seperti semula...

nb: Jika Grub anda sudah kembali/bisa diakses, tetapi di grub tidak menampilkan list Windows, maka lakukan pengupdaten grub2 anda caranya ketik kode berikut

sudo update-grub

Satu lagi tool opensource yang sangat bagus sebagai pengganti GIMP atau Photoshop, tool ini namanya Krita
dengan tool ini kita bisa dengan sangat mudah mengolah gambar foto kita layaknya kita mengolah dengan memakai tool Photoshop atau Gimp,hebatnya lagi tool ini bisa jalan di lingkungan windows.

untuk pengguna linux khususnya ubuntu, untuk mengistall program ini sangat mudah sekali, buka terminal kemudian ketik script berikut ini

ubuntu 10.04 ternyata ada plymouth kaya fedora versi 10,memang keunggulan plymouth dibanding unsplash gnome adalah kecepatan proses booting,disamping itu tampilan yang sangat bagus sekali...

oke langsung saja cara settingnya....
pertama buka terminal dan ketik script berikut

$sudo apt-get install plymouth-theme-solar

masukkan password root
setelah selesai menginstall,masih diterminal kemudian ketik script berikut

$sudo update-alternatives --config default.plymouth

kemudian masukkan pilihan tema yang baru kita install tadi,terus tekan enter

langkah terakhir adalah ketik script berikut

$sudo update-initramfs -u

setelah semuanya selesai kemudian restart komputer anda, dan lihat hasilnya....

Install Apache,Php5,Mysql dan Phpmyadmin

wah lama ga posting-posting neh...
saya mulai posting dari artikel ini aja dech..:D
kali ini saya akan menulis artikel tentang cara install Apache,Php5,Mysql dan Phpmyadmin di linux(Distro Ubuntu)

oke,pertama-pertama buka terminal terus ketik kode berikut ini
1. Install Mysql 5

$sudo apt-get install install mysql-server mysql-client

selanjutnya nanti akan diminta untuk mengisikan passwoord untuk mysqlnya,utk username biasanya 'root'

2.Install  Apache2

$sudo apt-get install apache2 

buka browser anda dan ketik 'http://localhost'  jika muncul tulisan 'it works' berarti untuk install apache2 sukses

3.Install Php5

$sudo apt-get install php5 libapache2-mod-php5

4.Install Phpmyadmin

$sudo apt-get install phpmyadmin

setelah instalasi sukses,langkah selanjutnya adalah mengkonfigurasi phpmyadmin dan mod_rewrite agar bisa sejalan dengan apache2

langkahnya adalah sebagai berikut

masih dengan terminal dan ketik kode berikut

$sudo nano /etc/apache2 apache2.conf 

selanjutnya copy paste baris kode berikut  Include /etc/phpmyadmin/apache.conf pada posisi baris paling bawah pada file apache2.conf

setelah semuanya sudah dilakukan,restart apache2 anda $sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart 
untuk mencoba silakan buka browser dan ketik localhost/phpmyadmin dan selanjutnya masukkan username root dan password 

selanjutnya adalah konfigurasi mod_rewrite, modul ini akan sangat berguna bila kita membangun sebuah web dengan file httaccess..oke langsung saja

ketik kode berikut pada terminal

sudo a2enmod rewrite

ubah kata all pada baris "AllowOverRide None" menjadi "AllowOverRide All". Biasanya default "None" menjadi "All" didalam baris file:

sudo nano /etc/apache2/sites-available/default

Restart Apache:

sudo /etc/init.d/apache2 restart

1. jalankan virtualbox

4. buka nautilus trus klik Documents/windows-shared,harusnya sudah ada data

Guest Addition adalah semacam jembatan antara PC Host dengan PC Guest jadi dengan Guest Addition kita bisa menikmati PC Guest layaknya PC Host...

untuk menginstall Guest Addition ini sangatlah mudah sekali,kalo di windows kita tinggal klik menu pilihan Devices - install Guest Addition,kalo di linux gmna?
sebenarnya pada prinsipnya sama,cuma ada bedanya juga...:D
ikuti langkah berikut:
1. buka dan jalankan PC Guest anda (dalam hal ini Guest saya Ubuntu 9.04)
2. klik menu Devices - install Guest Addition pada menu virtualBox
3. masuk ke mesin virtual dan buka terminal trus ketik baris berikut
~$ cd /media

media$ sudo sh VboxAddition/VboxLinuxAddition.run

5.selanjutnya ikuti semua langkah yang muncul di layar
6.restart PC Guest anda

Configure Virtualbox network bridge adapter di Ubuntu Host

Dengan network bridge di virtualBox kita bisa konek antar PC Host dengan PC guest dengan menggunakan Ip Address,layaknya jaringan LAN...
oke langsung saja...
PC Host yang gunakan adalah Ubuntu 10.04 dan tentunya sudah ada VirtualBoxnya,dalam hal ini PC Guest adalah Windows Xp
1. install bridge-utils
sudo apt-get install bridge-utils

2. edit /etc/network/interfaces
sudo nano /etc/network/interfaces
    add baris berikut
    jika anda ingin Ip DHCP maka tulis baris berikut

    auto br0
    iface br0 inet dhcp
bridge_ports eth0

    jika anda ingin Ip Manual(sesuai dengan Ip network anda)

   auto br0
   iface br0 inet static
   address 192.168.10.1
   netmask 255.255.255.0
   network 192.168.10.0
   broadcast 192.168.10.255
   bridge_ports eth0

3 simpan setingan tadi dan restart network anda
    sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart

4. buka virtualbox anda dan buka tab setting terus pilih network terus pilih br0

5. start PC Guest anda dan setting Ip Address nya sesuai dengan Ip Address di
   PC Host

6. ping PC Guest dari PC Host
   ping 192.168.10.2

    PING 192.168.10.1 (192.168.10.2) 56(84) bytes of data. 
    64 bytes from 192.168.10.2: icmp_seq=1 ttl=255 time=3.53 ms 
    64 bytes from 192.168.10.2: icmp_seq=2 ttl=255 time=21.2 ms

Setting mounting proc/bus/usb

Terkadang setiap kita upgrade ke versi yang lebih baru,pasti akan terjadi hal-hal yang tidak kita inginkan..itu yang saya alami setelah upgrade ke versi ubuntu 10.04,jadi setiap saya menyalakan laptop,ada setingan file yang belum bisa di load oleh Lucid,file yang saya maksud itu ada di etc/fstab,mungkin ada temen-temen yang pernah mengalami...

disini saya akan sedikit share pengalaman saya,ketika komputer di nyalakan bila ada muncul error mengenai mounting,ga usah takut dulu..itu adalah karena ada setingan usb untuk virtualbox,seperti ini contoh errornya "an error occurred while mounting /proc/bus/usb
press s to skip mounting or M for manual recovery " dulu di karmic kita harus setting file di /etc/fstab untuk bisa menggunakan usb di virtualbox tapi sekaranng di lucid bug itu udah teratasi..
oke langsung aja ke cara penanganannya
1.buka terminal ketik sudo nano /etc/fstab
2.masukkan password root
3.edit file di /etc/fstab dan beri tanda # pada baris berikut
#none /proc/bus/usb usbfs devgid=121,devmode=664 0 0
4.simpan file tersebut
5.restart komputer

Akhirnya ubuntu secara resmi merilis versi ubuntu 10.04 terbaru dengan codename Lucid Lynx,secara penjelasan dari situs resminya katanya banyak perubahan disana sini...ga sabar ingin mencoba,akhirnya saya download filenya via foss.id,setelah selesai download akhirnya tiba saatnya untuk mengupgrade versi ubutu saya,sebelumnya saya memakai versi 9.10..

lama juga mengupdate,tapi akhirnya selesai juga,dan sungguh sangat fantastis sekali versi ubuntu yang terbaru ini..

lama banget nich dah ga posting,kali ini saya akan posting tentang IDE C++ di linux...banyak banget sich IDE C++ di linux,ada Netbeans,eclipse dll...

di sini saya tidak akan membahas IDE yang telah saya sebutkan di atas,tapi IDE yang ini adalah Code::Block silakan baca lebih detailnya di situs resminya Code::Block,IDE ini sangat bagus menurut saya karena sangat ringan sekali,dan memang IDE ini di khususkan untuk bahasa C/C++

untuk temen-temen penggemar bahasa C silakan mencoba IDE ini,untuk installnya sangat mudah sekali,saya memakai distro ubuntu karmic
jadi langkahnya tinggal buka terminal dan ketik $sudo apt-get install Code::block
cukup gampang kan...

chat gtalk dengan GTalX

akhirnya mendapatkan juga aplikasi chating gtalk di linux,setelah lama-lama browsing...aplikasi yang saya maksud adalah GTalX,aplikasi ini mendukung voice dan text based chat,selama ini memakai pidgin tetapi menurutq masih lum sempurna mana aplikasi voice nya ga support...

oke ga perlu panjang lebar mari kita praktekan gmna cara install aplikasi keren ini..

gini caranya..

pertama download dulu aplikasi ini disini
setelah download file nya terus buka terminal dan tuju ke directory tempat menyimpan hasil download tadi terus ketik perintah berikut

'sudo dpkg -i gtalx_0.0.5_i386.deb' -->ingat tanpa tanda petik

kedua jika terjadi missing depedency atau error jalankan perintah berikut

'sudo apt-get -f install' -->ingat tanpa tanda petik

ketiga jika ingin meremove aplikasi ini cukup jalankan perintah berikut

'sudo apt-get remove gtalx_0.0.5_i386.deb' -->ingat tanpa tanda petik

mudah bukan....:D

langkah selanjutnya adalah jalankan programnya lewat Application - Internet - GTalX

terus login dengan id gmail anda...

sebelumnya saya sangat kesulitan voice chat dengan id gmail,kini semuanya mudah dengan GTalX

- Pidgin ---> tidak bisa

- GTalX juga bisa berjalan di windus lewat virtualBox,tp saya sudah ucapkan selamat tinggal selamanya buat windus

- Bisa juga pakai wine,tapi GTalX tidak jalan...

Cara install UMTSMon

Apa itu UMTSMon?aplikasi yang cukup menarik karena aplikasi ini mirip dengan aplikasi bawaan dari Modem dan dapat digunkan untuk memonitor semua merk modem GSM HSDPA misal merk Siera, Huawei, ZTE dll.sebelumnya jika kita pengen connect ke internet dengan modem di linux baik itu distro ubuntu to lainnya pasti kita akan di hapadkan pada permasalahan bagaimana cara mengkoneksikan modem kita tersebut,terlebih modem yang lum ke support ma distro tersebut...wah ini akan jadi pekerjaan tambahan buat kita...

dengan aplikasi UMTSMon ini kita akan bisa memanage modem kita serasa kita menginstall driver bawaan dari modem tersebut..seperti yang telah saya jelaskan di atas...:D
oke cukup basa - basinya..mari kita mulai saja..
pertama download dulu aplikasi UMTSMon ini,yang saya pake versi 9 dan langsung ngacir di ubuntu karmic saya...hehehe

3.Buat application launcher supaya kita tidak harus membuka Terminal dala menjalankan aplikasi UMTSMon ini,caranya klik System | Preferences | main menu kemudian tambahkan shortcut untuk aplikasinya...

setelah itu akan muncul window baru untuk menentukan icon UMTSMon ,pilih icon sesuai dengan selera kamu

4.Kemudian lanjutkan dengan mengisi command dan nama aplikasi,commandnya adalah sebagai berikut "gksu /opt/umtsmon-0.9/umtsmon" [harus sesuai dengan lokasi direktori UMTSMon anda]

5.Untuk mengujinya silahkan jalankan UMTSMon, Buka UMTSMon pada menu yang di buat tadi -- Application | Internet | UMTSMon

Installation

Using it

In your open document in OpenOffice.org:
you can setting your OpenOffice.org like

Open the Styles and Formatting window [F11].
Click on the Page Styles icon (fourth icon from left).
"Default" should already be highlighted. Right-click to see the context menu and choose New.
In the dialog that appears, give the new page style a descriptive name, e.g. Landscape.
Click on the Page tab and change the page orientation to Landscape by clicking on the corresponding radio button. You may also make other changes to the page style, if needed (such as adjusting the margin sizes).
Click OK. The new style will appear as one of the page style choices.
Place the text cursor in your document at the location where you want to insert the Landscape page.
Select Insert->Manual Break.
In the dialog that appears, select Page Break and in the Style list, select your new page style, e.g. Landscape.
Click OK.

To end the Landscape area and return to Portrait in your document:

Place the text cursor in your document at the location where you want to stop the Landscape layout.
Select Insert->Manual Break.
In the dialog that appears, select Page Break and in the Style list, select the previous page style, e.g. Default.

After Android operating system, Google is now trying to experiment with an open source programming language called Go, which will optimize the reliability of applications and multi-processor systems. Go is the second programming language that Google has released this year. Meanwhile, in July last, Google has released Simple programming language, a dialect of BASIC for the development of Android applications.

According to Rob Pike, head of Google engineers said that the purpose made Go, is a language system, can be like C + + or C. Pike also said that Go has the same level with Java, if someone is smart to play with the Java language, it also will not be difficult to use Go. Go itself began in 2007 as a project has been running 20 percent, but that Go was also assisted by the various contributor such as a Google engineer Robert Griesemer, Ken Thompson, Ian Taylor, and Russ Cox.

The applications of the SMS gateway can be searched and downloaded from the internet. You would be able to found a number of SMS gateway applications from the various platforms.
One of them that will be discussed in this article is Gammu, As we are going to use Gammu application for sms gateway, because apart from we can download free also it’s easy to configure and can be use in both i.e. Windows and Linux. Another reason is to use Gammu is because MySQL can be used. But here we will discuss that how we can setup SMS gateway using Gammu with Linux.
The mobile phone that succeeded in being tried by me is Nokia 3310 and Siemens C35i using Linux platform.
Before installation is done, first read information repeatedly about Gammu here:

Download Gammu.
1. gammu.tar.gz

2. Web Server (If you have webserver, don’t ignore this, if not yet then you must install first apache, myslq, php)

Gammu supports various types of the mobile phones. How come? look this: Gammu currently supports: majority of Nokia phones from DCT3 generation with Nokia operating system – for example Nokia 3210, 3310, 3315, 3410, 5110, 5130, 6110, 6510, 6610, 7210, 8310
Many AT devices – for example many Siemens, Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Alcatel models, Alcatel from BE5/BF5/BH4 generation – for example 501, 511, 512, also some functions with OBEX and Symbian devices
4. The Serial cable for the mobile phone

If you have successfully downloaded gammu.tar.gz, please extract it:
#tar xvfz gammu.tar.gz
After extracted automatically you will find the folder gammu-1.08.00, now enter into the extracted folder.
#cd gammu-1.08.00
Before installation make a custom read README, INSTALL, etc.
#. /configure
#make
Here must be paid attention by you whether being that error or not if the error occurs that means a significant library mysql you are still being more incomplete, usually an error that appear was found when MySql doesn’t support the gammu. (his installation process repeatedly try to find the mysql library which is needed)
#make shared
#make install
#make installshared
Further it’s necessary for you to upgrade the “library”
# vi/etc/ld.so.conf
Add the library link /usr/local/lib to file ld.so.conf, once you have done upgrade the library:
#/sbin/ldconfig
Note: If you did not find any error to this stage means you have successfully installed the Gammu sms Gateway.
Now tried to enter again into the folder where you extracted gammu.tar.gz and copy the available files in folder /docs/example/config/* here you will find 3 files by the name of gammurc, mysql.sql, smsdrc and gammurc.
Copy the gammurc and smsdrc into the /etc directory
#cp gammurc smsdrc /etc/
Further search edited file like this:

port = /dev/ttyS0 #if you are using COM2 then substitute it with ttyS1
#model = 6110 #model of mobile phone was ignored by you, because it doesn’t need often to mention the phone model.

If you are still confused, inside the gammurc file it has the guidance available. If you are lazy to edit the file, then you can get the file from www.posmetropadang.com/gammu/gammurc
Now confirm if the data cable and your mobile phone are connected to port COM1 to your computer, if everything is just fine, run the following command.
#gammu –identify

If you got the connection info like above gammu means Gammu detected your mobile phone and now you can continue to the next step.
Now let’s configure that how all the phone’s SMS’s will be kept by MySQL database to put forward on the webpage using php scripts.
OK further bro… our work has almost finished, possibly have some coffee or cigarettes that could disrupted previously hehe…??
Now try to open the file smsdrc that you copied earlier to directory /etc
#vi /etc/smsdrc
[smsd]
PIN = 1234
logfile = smsdlog
commtimeout = 1
sendtimeout = 10
Search and edit the part that you configured in the mysql database:
# ————————- SETTINGS FOR –smsd MYSQL —————————
user = root
password = password_mysql_user
pc = localhost
database = Database_name
Note: The above lines are to make connection with mysql database.
Now enter to the directory /docs/example/config/ and get the file ‘mysql.Sql’, that is a table structure. Now put this file to the database that we are creating in the MySQL database for SMS gateway.
For sms database
#mysqladmin –u root –p create sms
To create tables for gammu grab the file ‘mysql.sql’
#mysql –u root –p <>
Or it can be easier for you if you make Gammu tables through phpadmin.
http://localhost/phpmyadmin
Once you are finished, you can start the smsd deamon:
#gammu –smsd MYSQL/etc/smsdrc
The Log filename Is “smsdlog”
Press Ctrl+C to stopped the program …
After the issuing above command if output is like above means your SMS gateway is done successfully and you can use it according to your requirements. And all the available sms in your mobile phone will be entered inside the mysql database.
For your further stage is to putting forward your SMS’s to the web which is using php scripts, The required php script can be downloaded from

You must edit the SMS database info in the sms.php file.
If all goes well, now you can open the SMS’s through your favorite browser:

Now what must be done by you??
The smsd service deamon must be running to grab the SMS’s from the phone and you and you could see on the web.
Create a Gammu startup script.sh and place it in the directory /usr/local/Bin/#cd/usr/local/bin/
#vi gammu.sh
File contents are as follows:

/usr/local/bin/gam you –smsd MYSQL/etc/smsdrc
After edited that file open /etc/inittab
#vi /etc/inittab
And add the below line in the inittab

dah lama nih ga nulis-nulis...:) kali ini saya akan menulis bagaimana caranya menghidden file di linux,pertanyaan ini sering muncul dari teman-teman saya pengguna linux...setelah cari2 ternyata caranya sangat mudah sekali....
oke..mari kita mulai

pertama buka terminal kamu,jika sudah tuju dimana folder/file yang akan dihidden..
seperti ini $ cd /Documents
setelah itu hidden file/folder dengan perintah seperti berikut ini..
$ mv film/ .film/

sekarang coba liat dengan perintah ls, apakah file/foldernya masih ada?
untuk melihat/membuka kembali file/folder yang terhidden gunakan kombinasi keybord ctrl+H

mudah bukan....:)

jika sudah,buka terminal,di kompie saya,hasil file download tersimpan di desktop,oke asumsi saya file ada di desktop...ketik perintah berikut

$sudo sudo cp * /usr/share/gnome-screensaver

selanjutnya kita masuk ke gconf-editor,caranya tekan kombinasi alt+F2 lalu ketik gconf-editor
kemudian click apps->gnome-screensaver kemudian set key “lock-dialog-theme” menjadi “susbuntu”
mudah bukan...langkah selanjutnya adalah reboot ubuntu kamu...

pertama buka terminal dan ketikkan $sudo nano /etc/apt/source.list
lalu copykan file berikut ini

lalu update source.list $sudo apt-get update
jika terjadi error ketikan file berikut ini

jika sudah selanjutanya install remastersys
$sudo apt-get install remastersys
jika instalasi sudah selesai selanjutnya jalankan softwarenya,pilih system->administration->Remastersys Backup

Komodo pengganti dreamweaver

Setelah sekian lama memakai dreamweaver untuk mengolah dan membuat coding php,akhirnya dilingkungan Linux ada salah satu software pengolah pemrograman web yang menurut saya sangat bagus disamping juga tentunya opensource...

komodo adalah nama software tersebut,mungkin develop software ini orang indonesia..hehehe,karena namanya diambil dari salah satu hewan langka di indonesia yaitu komodo..mengapa saya memilih komodo?
pertama tentunya Opensource,kedua untuk memakai software ini kita tidak perlu licensi ketiga hebatnya lagi komodo bukan hanya untuk editor pemrograman web,tapi juga untuk bahasa pemrograman yang lain yang tentunya ini sangat berguna bagi kita yang menyukai bermacam2 bahasa pemrograman...
oke cukup penjelasannya..hehehe,sekarang bagaimana untuk mendapatkan software komodo dan menginstalnya di Linux,dalam hal ini saya memakai distro ubuntu,tapi saya kira sama aja antara distro satu dengan distro yang lainnya dilingkungan Linux.

setelah selesai mendownload kemudian extract file hasil download ke direktori kerja kamu,setelah itu buka terminal dan masuk ke direktori dimana komodo tadi qm extract...
terus ketik perintah berikut $./install.sh -->tekan enter
secara default komodo akan menanyakan apakah akan diinstall di direktori defaultnya komodo,ini terserah kamu,enaknya milih default ato manual,klo saya milih manual,jd di derektori Document saya membuat folder dengan nama aplikasi selanjutnya hasil install file komodo saya taruh disitu..contoh alamatnya kaya gini "/home/cahyo/Document/aplikasi"
jika semuanya benar komodo akan sukses terinstall di Linux kamu..

Akhirnya kesampain juga nyobain modem huawei..:) ,kali ini saya akan memposting bagaimana carannya mengkonekkan modem ini dan kartu telkomselFlash di ubuntu jaunty
oke mari kita mulai...

sebelumnya sebenarnya saya sudah memposting cara mengkonekkan TelkomselFlash di ubuntu tapi dengan modem sierra,bisa diliat disini ,tapi kali ini saya akan mencoba di modem huawei
pertama cek dulu usb modem kamu apakah dikenali dengan baik oleh ubuntu,caranya ketik perintah berikut ~$ sudo lsusb
jika ubuntu sudah mengenali dengan baik,biasanya akan muncul jendela kofirmasi new mobile broadband,seperti ini

setelah itu klik forward,pilih provider yang kamu pake,klo disini saya pake telkomsel terus klik forward dan klik apply
klo sudah klik di applet network dan pilih vpn connection dan pilih configure vpn,seperti ini
klik Telkomsel terus plih edit
setting seperti gambar diatas terus klik apply
-username : wap
-password : wap123
-apn : internet

jangan lupa centang pilihan connect automatically

Mengaktifkan usb di virtualBox

Salah satu aplikasi yang dapat diandalkan untuk menggantikan vmware yang comercial...ya yang kita bicarakan adalah virtualBox aplikasi yang mendukung kinerja saya diluar linux,berkat aplikasi ini saya masih bisa membuat program visual studio di lingkungan windows...tapi masih ada sedikit masalah di virtualbox yang agak memerlukan setingan yang rumit yaitu belum bisa aktif usb secara otomatis...
setelah lama ngubek2 google akhirnya saya menemukan solusinya
oke mari kita mulai...

ketik perintah berikut di terminal ~$sudo gedit /etc/init.d/mountdevsubfs.sh
setelah muncul jendela gedit terus cari baris no 40,tambahkan kode berikut ini

mkdir-p /dev/bus/usb/.usbfs
domount usbfs "" /dev/bus/usb/.usbfs
ln-s .usbfs /devices/dev/bus/usb/devices
mount - rbind/dev/bus/usb/proc/bus/usb

terus klik save
ketik di terminal ~$grep vboxusers /etc/group
untuk mengetahui devgid dari virtualbox,karena no ini nantinya yang akan dipakai di file fstab
maka akan tampil vboxusers:x:124:cahyo -->ini dikompie saya

jadi group id kompie saya adalah 124

kemudian buka file /etc/fstab ,ketik di terminal ~$sudo gedit /etc/fstab
setelah itu tambahkan baris kode berikut di baris terakhir

none /proc/bus/usb usbfs devgid = 124, devmode = 664 0 0

terus klik save

cara setting telkomselFlash di modem sierra

setelah 1 minggu memesan dan menunggu kartu telkomselFlash,akhirnya tiba saatnya untuk mencobanya di ubuntu kesayangan ku....;)
pertama sempat bingung juga ko ga bisa konek-konek,sempat khawatir klo kartunya ga bisa dipakai...untung ada mbah google yang selalu siap untuk membantu,setelah searching sana sini akhirnya saya nemuin juga gmana cara settingnya...
oke mari kita mulai

modem yang saya gunakan adalah sierra 881u
pertama buka terminal kamu,terus ketik
$sudo lsusb
'perintah untuk mencek usb kita
selanjutnya ketik
$sudo wvdialconf
kalau belum ada wvdial,install wvdial dengan ketik $sudo apt-get install wvdial
terus kemudian ketik $sudo gedit /etc/wvdial.conf
kemudian copy file dibawah ini

di lingkungan linux pasti kita mengenal istilah desktop gnome dan desktop kde,tapi apa sih sebenarnya yang dimaksud dengan gnome dan kde?
oke,disini saya akan menjelaskan sedikit tentang antara desktop keduanya...

Gnome
proyek gnome sebenarnya dilatarbelakangi kekhawatiran GNU akan pemakaian library QT pada KDE,pengambangan gnome dimulai pada tahun 1997 dengan berdasar pada library GTK.library ini berdasar pada bahasa C,fokus utama gnome adalah pada kemudahan pemakaian pengguna,Gnome lebih mementingkan kesederhanaan antarmuka,ketimbang menyediakan beragam pilihan untuk mengubah-ubah fungsi GUI.

Kde
pengambangan kde diawali oleh matthias Ettrich tahun 1996 dengan maksud untuk membantu lingkungan desktop berbasiskan unix yang tentu saj konsisten dan mudah digunakan,kde dikembangkan dengan library Qt..sebenarnya apa yang menarik dari Kde?secara garis besar Kde mirip dengan tampilan windows,jadi pengguna awam yang belum mengenal linux akan sangat terbantu sekali dengan desktop ini,pilihan kustominasi dan pengaturan desktopnya bahkan melebihi windows/jendela,sehingga alasan itulah mengapa Linus torvalds memakai desktop ini dibandingkan dengan gnome.

cara yang paling mudah dan ampuh menurut saya adalah dengan langsung mencoba keduanya selama beberapa waktu,karena masing-masing memiliki kelebihan dan kekurangan masing-masing.

Pidgin Tidak bisa konek ke server yahoo

beberapa waktu lalu,saya dipusingkan dengan tidak bisa koneknya aplikasi chating kesayangan saya yaitu pidgin,awalnya saya mengira mungkin ubuntu saya agak bermasalah,tp ternyata saya juga menemui masalah ini di ubuntu milik temen saya,sempat bingung juga,gimana caranya biar bisa konek lagi
alhamdulillah berkat bantuan om google akhirnya bisa deh.....
ini caranya:

ternyata caranya sangat gampang sekali...
buka pidgin kamu terus pilih accounts - manageAccounts - pilih username kamu terus tekan modify

akan muncul window baru,kamu tinggal pilih advance dan ganti server page default dengan ini 'cn.scs.msg.yahoo.com' tanpa tanda petik..

setelah update repo selesai,selanjutnya kamu install "non-free-codecs"
caranya kamu buka terminal terus kamu ketik "$sudo apt-get install non-free-codecs"

Sering kita dihadapkan masalah jika kita mau membuat website dengan webserver di localhost,untuk dapat berjalan kita harus menginstal Apache,Php, dan mySql untuk databasenya...
beruntung kita hidup dilingkungan OpenSource,mengapa?karena ada salah satu dari sekian banyak aplikasi yang menawarkan paket dari ketiga aplikasi yang telah saya sebutkan diatas...
dan saya akan memilih salah satu yaitu Xampp,dan tentunya pengaplikasiannya di Linux(Distro Ubuntu)
oke Langsung kita geber...

sebelumnya kamu download dulu Xampp for Linux disini,pilih versi yang terbaru...
selanjutnya setelah file terdownload ,buka terminal kamu trus ketik seperti ini
$cd Dekstop/
$sudo tar xvfz xampp-linux-1.7.1.tar.gz -C /opt
--Masukkan password sudo

tunggu sejenak,file sedang terinstall...

jika sudah selesai,untuk menjalankan xampp ketik seperti ini di terminal

$sudo /opt/lampp/lampp start
$sudo /opt/lampp/lampp stop --untuk menghentikan xampp
$sudo /opt/lampp/lampp restart --untuk merestart xampp
$sudo /opt/lampp/lampp security --untuk setting security xampp

selanjutnya buka browser kamu dan ketik http://localhost

Ketikkan di terminal perintah ‘sudo apt-get install nvidia-glx-173‘
Pastikan nvidia settings juga diinstal
Restart ulang
klik system -> administration trus pilih ‘Hardware Drivers”
Aktifkan 173
Ketikkan perintah di terminal ‘gksudo nvidia-settings‘

nanti akan muncul program kecil "Nvidia-Setting",selanjutnya kamu centang pilihan yang belum tercentang,trus selanjutnya kamu restart gnome to kompie kamu...

ketik ---> $ cd /etc/apt
terus ketik --->$ sudo nano source.list

dalam menu nano,cek apakah repo kamu masih bawaan dari ubuntu,jika iya,kasih comments semua link repo contoh :

dalam menu gedit,tambahkan file ini ---> SKIP_CHECKS=yes

Akhirnya tak kuasa juga menahan godaan dari tampilan Ubuntu 9.04 dengan codename Jaunty jacklope,dan laptop kesayangan jadi korban,untuk kesekian kalinya harus merasakan di install distro Linux lagi...hehehe
pertama ku coba pake LiveCd,aq langsung jatuh hati,dengan booting yang cepet,dan yang paling penting wifi bandelq bisa jalan di ubuntu 9.04....seneng prend...
ternyata keluh kesahku didenger juga ma develop ubuntu.....:D
agak sedih dikit,coz visual effects ga langsung jalan...tapi yang penting wifi jalan,semeuanya bakal aman terkendali...hehehe

Pake Linux itu enak...coba dan rasakan....

Tadi pagi mengikuti Rilis party Ubuntu 9.04 di kampus,pertama sie semangat karena disamping daftarnya yang gratis,pastinya disitu akan mendapatkan ilmu baru tentang dunia Linux dan OpenSource,
tapi pas nyampe di kampus,udah acaranya mundur lebih dari 1 jam,acara yang di kemas oleh panitia juga kurang menarik kalau menurut saya...

This is a detailed description about how to set up a Fedora 10 server that offers all services needed by ISPs and hosters: Apache web server (SSL-capable) with PHP5/Ruby/Python, Postfix mail server with SMTP-AUTH and TLS, BIND DNS server, Proftpd FTP server, MySQL server, Dovecot POP3/IMAP, Quota, Firewall, etc.

I will use the following software:

Web Server: Apache 2.2.10
PHP 5.2.6
Ruby
Python
Database Server: MySQL 5.0.67
Mail Server: Postfix
DNS Server: BIND9 (chrooted)
FTP Server: proftpd
POP3/IMAP server: Dovecot
Webalizer for web site statistics

In the end you should have a system that works reliably, and if you like you can install the free webhosting control panel ISPConfig (i.e., ISPConfig runs on it out of the box).

I want to say first that this is not the only way of setting up such a system. There are many ways of achieving this goal but this is the way I take. I do not issue any guarantee that this will work for you!

This article describes how you can upgrade your Fedora 9 system to Fedora 10 (which was released yesterday - November 25, 2008). The upgrade procedure works for both desktop and server installations.

The commands in this article must be executed with root privileges. Open a terminal and log in as root, or if you log in with a regular user, type

Upgrading To Fedora 10

Before we upgrade, we must install the latest updates:

yum -y update

Next we clean the yum cache:

yum clean all

Now we come to the upgrade process. Normally we can do this with preupgrade which I describe in chapter 2.1. However, preupgrade did not let me choose Fedora 10 for the upgrade (I've tried this on several systems); if you face the same problem, please go to chapter 2.2 where I describe an upgrade using yum.

Install preupdate...

yum install preupgrade

... and call it like this on a desktop...

preupgrade

(The preupgrade wizard will then start on your desktop; select Fedora 10 and follow the wizard.)

I will use the username falko in this tutorial, and I will download all necessary files to falko's download which is equivalent to the directory /home/falko/Download. If you use another username (which you most probably do ;-)), please replace falko with your own username. So when I use a command like

History of Fedora Linux

History
The Fedora Project was created in late 2003, when Red Hat Linux was discontinued.^[9] Red Hat Enterprise Linux was to be Red Hat's only officially supported Linux distribution, while Fedora was to be a community distribution.^[9] Red Hat Enterprise Linux branches its releases from versions of Fedora.^[10]

The name of Fedora derives from Fedora Linux, a volunteer project that provided extra software for the Red Hat Linux distribution, and from the characteristic fedora used in Red Hat's "Shadowman" logo. Fedora Linux was eventually absorbed into the Fedora Project.^[11] Fedora is a trademark of Red Hat. Although this has previously been disputed by the creators of the Fedora repository management software, the issue has now been resolved.^[12]

Features

The Fedora Project distributes Fedora in several different ways:^[13]

Fedora DVD/CD set – a DVD or CD set of all major Fedora packages at time of shipping;
Live images – CD or DVD sized images that can be used to create a Live CD or boot from a USB flash drive and optionally install to a hard disk;
Minimal CD – used for installing over HTTP, FTP or NFS;^[14]

The Fedora Project also distributes custom variations of Fedora which are called Fedora spins.^[15] These are built from a specific set of software packages and have a combination of software to meet the requirements of a specific kind of end user. Fedora spins are developed by several Fedora special interest groups.^[16] It is also possible to create Live USB versions of Fedora using Fedora Live USB creator or UNetbootin.

Extra Packages for Enterprise Linux (EPEL) is a volunteer-based community effort from the Fedora project to create a repository of high-quality add-on packages that complement the Fedora-based Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and its compatible spinoffs such as CentOS or Scientific Linux.^[17]

Software package management is primarily handled by the yum utility.^[18] Graphical interfaces, such as pirut and pup are provided, as well as puplet, which provides visual notifications in the panel when updates are available.^[18] apt-rpm is an alternative to yum, and may be more familiar to people used to Debian or Debian-based distributions, where Advanced Packaging Tool is used to manage packages.^[19] Additionally, extra repositories can be added to the system, so that packages not available in Fedora can be installed.^[20]

Software repositories

Before Fedora 7, there were two main repositories – Core and Extras. Fedora Core contained all the base packages that were required by the operating system, as well as other packages that were distributed along with the installation CD/DVDs, and was maintained only by Red Hat developers. Fedora Extras, the secondary repository that was included from Fedora Core 3, was community-maintained and not distributed along with the installation CD/DVDs. Since Fedora 7, the Core and Extras repositories have been merged, hence the distribution dropping Core from its name.^[21] That also allowed for community submissions of packages that were formerly allowed only by Red Hat developers.

Also prior to Fedora 7 being released, there was a third repository called Fedora Legacy. This repository was community-maintained and was mainly concerned with extending the life cycle of older Fedora Core distributions and selected Red Hat Linux releases that were no longer officially maintained.^[22] Fedora Legacy was shut down in December 2006.^[23]

Third party repositories exist that distribute more packages that are not included in Fedora either because it does not meet Fedora's definition of Free Software, or because distribution of that software may violate US law. The primary third party repository and the only fully compatible ones are RPM Fusion and Livna. RPM Fusion is a joint effort by many third party repository maintainers. Livna is still maintained separately as an extension of RPM Fusion for legal reasons and only hosts the libdvdcss package for encrypted DVD playback support.

Security is one of the most important features in Fedora. One of the security features in Fedora is Security-Enhanced Linux, a Linux feature that implements a variety of security policies, including mandatory access controls, through the use of Linux Security Modules (LSM) in the Linux kernel. Fedora is one of the distributions leading the way with SELinux.^[24] SELinux was introduced in Fedora Core 2. It was disabled by default, as it radically altered how the operating system worked, but was enabled by default in Fedora Core 3 and introduced a less strict, targeted policy.^[25]^[26]

Fedora also has methods in place to prevent some buffer overflow exploits and root kits from functioning. Compile time buffer checks, Exec Shield and restrictions on how kernel memory in /dev/mem can be accessed help to prevent this.^[27]

Secondary architectures

Fedora has also been ported to a number of secondary architectures. These architecture ports are not critical to a general release, inasmuch a package build failure will not be considered fatal. The ports currently available are for ARM, IA64, S390 and SPARC.^[28]

Releases

Fedora Core 1

Fedora Core 1 was the first version of Fedora and was released on November 6, 2003.^[1] It was codenamed Yarrow. Fedora Core 1 was based on Red Hat Linux 9 and shipped with version 2.4.19 of the Linux kernel, version 2.4 of the GNOME desktop environment, and version 3.1.4 of KDE (the K Desktop Environment).^[27]

Fedora Core 2 was released on May 18, 2004, codenamed Tettnang.^[29] It shipped with Linux 2.6, GNOME 2.6, KDE 3.2.2, and SELinux^[29] (SELinux was disabled by default due to concerns that it radically altered the way that Fedora Core ran).^[25] XFree86 was replaced by the newer X.org, a merger of the previous official X11R6 release, which additionally included a number of updates to Xrender, Xft, Xcursor, fontconfig libraries, and other significant improvements.^[25]

Fedora Core 3 was released on November 8, 2004, codenamed Heidelberg.^[30] This was the first release of Fedora Core to include the Mozilla Firefox web browser, as well as support for the Indic languages.^[30] This release also saw the LILO boot loader deprecated in favour of GRUB.^[30] SELinux was also enabled by default, but with a new targeted policy, which was less strict than the policy used in Fedora Core 2.^[30] Fedora Core 3 shipped with GNOME 2.8 and KDE 3.3.^[30] It was the first release to include the new Fedora Extras repository.^[26]

Fedora Core 4 was released on June 13, 2005, with the codename Stentz.^[31] It shipped with Linux 2.6.11,^[31] KDE 3.4 and GNOME 2.10.^[32] This version introduced the new Clearlooks theme, which was inspired by the Red Hat Bluecurve theme.^[32] It also shipped with the OpenOffice.org 2.0 office suite, as well as Xen, a high performance and secure open source virtualization framework.^[32] It also introduced support for the PowerPC CPU architecture, and over 80 new policies for SELinux.^[32]

None of these distributions are maintained by the Fedora Project.^[33]

Fedora Core 5–6

The last two cores introduced specific artwork that defined them. This is a trend that has continued in later Fedora versions.

Fedora Core 5 was released on March 20, 2006, with the codename Bordeaux, and introduced the Fedora Bubbles artwork.^[34] It was the first Fedora release to include Mono and tools built with it such as Beagle, F-Spot and Tomboy.^[34] It also introduced new package management tools such as pup and pirut (see Yellow dog Updater, Modified). It also was the first Fedora release not to include the long deprecated (but kept for compatibility) LinuxThreads, replaced by the Native POSIX Thread Library.^[35]

Fedora Core 6 was released on October 24, 2006, codenamed Zod.^[36] This release introduced the Fedora DNA artwork, replacing the Fedora Bubbles artwork used in Fedora Core 5.^[37] The codename is derived from the infamous villain, General Zod, from the Superman DC Comic Books.^[38] This version introduced support for the Compiz compositing window manager and AIGLX (a technology that enables GL-accelerated effects on a standard desktop).^[37] It shipped with Firefox 1.5 as the default web browser, and Smolt, a tool that allows users to inform developers about the hardware they use.

Neither of these distributions are maintained by the Fedora Project.^[33]

Fedora 7

Fedora 7, codenamed Moonshine, was released on May 31, 2007.^[39] The biggest difference between Fedora Core 6 and Fedora 7 was the merging of the Red Hat "Core" and Community "Extras" repositories,^[39] and the new build system put in place to manage those packages. This release used entirely new build and compose tools that enabled the user to create fully-customized Fedora distributions that could also include packages from any third party provider.^[39]

There are three official spins available for Fedora 7:^[40]

Live – two Live CDs (one for GNOME and one for KDE);
Fedora – a DVD that includes all the major packages available at shipping;
Everything – simply an installation tree for use by yum and Internet installations.

Fedora 7 features GNOME 2.18 and KDE 3.5.6, a new theme entitled Flying High, OpenOffice.org 2.2 and Firefox 2.0.^[40] Fast user switching is, for the first time, fully integrated and enabled by default.^[40] Also, there were a number of updates to SELinux, including a new setroubleshoot tool for debugging SELinux security notifications, and a new, comprehensive system-config-selinux tool for fine-tuning the SELinux setup.^[40] As of 2008-06-13, Fedora 7 was no longer supported by the Fedora Project.^[33]^[41]

Fedora 8

Fedora 8, codenamed Werewolf, was released on November 8, 2007.^[42]

Some of the new features and updates in Fedora 8 include:^[43]

PulseAudio – a sound daemon that allows different applications to control the audio. Fedora was the first distribution to enable it by default.^[43]
system-config-firewall – a new firewall configuration tool that replaces system-config-securitylevel from previous releases.
Codeina – a tool that guides users using content under proprietary or patent encumbered formats to purchase codecs from fluendo; it is an optional component that may be uninstalled in favor of Gstreamer codec plug-ins from Livna which are free of charge.
IcedTea – a project that attempts to bring OpenJDK to Fedora by replacing encumbered code.
NetworkManager – faster, more reliable connections;^[43] better security (through the use of the keyring); clearer display of wireless networks; better D-Bus integration.
Better laptop support – enhancements to the kernel to reduce battery load, disabling of background cron jobs when running on the battery, and additional wireless drivers.

Fedora 8 also includes a new desktop artwork entitled Infinity, and a new desktop theme called Nodoka. A unique feature of Infinity is that the wallpaper can change during the day to reflect the time of day.^[43]

In February 2008, a new Xfce Live CD "spin" was announced for the x86 and x86-64 architectures.^[44] This Live CD version uses the Xfce desktop environment, which aims to be fast and lightweight, while still being visually appealing and easy to use. Like the GNOME and KDE spins, the Xfce spin can be installed to the hard disk.^[44]

Fedora 9

Fedora 9, codenamed Sulphur, was released on May 13, 2008.^[45]

Some of the new features of Fedora 9 include:^[46]

GNOME 2.22.
KDE 4, which is the default interface as part of the KDE spin.
OpenJDK 6 has replaced IcedTea.^[47]
PackageKit is included as a front-end to yum, and as the default package manager.
One Second X allows the X Window System to perform a cold start from the command line in nearly one second; similarly, shutdown of X should be as quick.^[48]
Many improvements to the Anaconda installer;^[49] among these features, it now supports resizing ext2, ext3 and NTFS file systems, and can create and install Fedora to encrypted file systems.
Firefox 3.0 beta 5 is included in this release, and the 3.0 package was released as an update the same day as the general release.
Perl 5.10.0, which features a smaller memory footprint and other improvements.
Data Persistence in USB images^[50]

Fedora 9 features a new artwork entitled Waves which, like Infinity in Fedora 8, changes the wallpaper to reflect the time of day.

Fedora 10

Fedora 11, codenamed Leonidas, is set to be released on May 26, 2009.^[52] This is the first release whose artwork is determined by the name instead of by users voting on themes. This was done in an effort to make the art in Fedora even better. The planned features in Fedora 11 are: Faster Bootup, KDE 4.2 and Gnome 2.26, Netbeans 6.5 and nVidia kernel modesetting through the nv open source driver.

The Linux kernel has been marked by constant growth throughout its history. Since the initial release of its source code in 1991, it has grown from a small number of C files under a license prohibiting commercial distribution to its state in 2009 of over 370 megabytes of source under the GNU General Public License.

Events leading to creation

The Unix operating system was conceived and implemented in the 1960s and first released in 1970. Its availability and portability caused it to be widely adopted, copied and modified by academic institutions and businesses. Its design became influential to authors of other systems.

In 1983, Richard Stallman started the GNU project with the goal of creating a free UNIX-like, POSIX-compatible operating system. As part of this work, he wrote the GNU General Public License (GPL). By the early 1990s there was almost enough available software to create a full operating system. However, the GNU kernel, called Hurd, failed to attract enough attention from developers leaving GNU incomplete.

Another free operating system project in the 1980s was the Berkeley Software Distribution (BSD). This was developed by UC Berkeley from the 6th edition of Unix from AT&T. Since BSD contained Unix code that AT&T owned, AT&T filed a lawsuit (USL v. BSDi) in the early 1990s against the University of California. This strongly limited the development and adoption of BSD.^[2]^[3]

MINIX, a Unix-like system intended for academic use, was released by Andrew S. Tanenbaum in 1987. While source code for the system was available, modification and redistribution were restricted. In addition, MINIX's 16-bit design was not well adapted to the 32-bit features of the increasingly cheap and popular Intel 386 architecture for personal computers.

These factors of a lack of a widely-adopted, free kernel provided the impetus for Torvalds's starting his project. He has stated that if either the GNU or 386BSD kernels were available at the time, he likely would not have written his own

The Creation of Linux

In 1991, in Helsinki, Linus Torvalds began a project that later became the Linux kernel. It was initially a terminal emulator, which Torvalds used to access the large UNIX servers of the university. He wrote the program specifically for the hardware he was using and independent of an operating system because he wanted to use the functions of his new PC with an 80386 processor. Development was done on Minix using the GNU C compiler, which is still the main choice for compiling Linux today (although the code can be built with other compilers, such as the Intel C Compiler).^{[citation needed]}

As Torvalds wrote in his book Just for Fun^[6], he eventually realized that he had written an operating system kernel. On 25 August 1991, he announced this system in a Usenet posting to the newsgroup "comp.os.minix.":^[7]

The name

Linus Torvalds had wanted to call his invention Freax, a portmanteau of "freak", "free", and "x" (as an allusion to Unix). During the start of his work on the system, he stored the files under the name "Freax" for about half of a year. Torvalds had already considered the name "Linux," but initially dismissed it as too egotistical^[6].

In order to facilitate development, the files were uploaded to the FTP server (ftp.funet.fi) of the Helsinki University of Technology (HUT) in September 1991. Ari Lemmke, Torvald's coworker at the HUT who was responsible for the servers at the time, did not think that "Freax" was a good name. So, he named the project "Linux" on the server without consulting Torvalds^[6]. Later, however, Torvalds consented to "Linux".

Linux under the GNU GPL

Torvalds first published the Linux kernel under its own licence, which had a restriction on commercial activity.

The software to use with the kernel was software developed as part of the GNU project licensed under the GNU General Public License, a free software license. The first release of the Linux kernel, Linux 0.01, included a binary of GNU's Bash shell.^[9]

In the "Notes for linux release 0.01", Torvalds lists the GNU software that is required to run Linux: ^[9]

Sadly, a kernel by itself gets you nowhere. To get a working system you need a shell, compilers, a library etc. These are separate parts and may be under a stricter (or even looser) copyright. In 1992, he suggested releasing the kernel under the GNU General Public License. He first announced this decision in the release notes of version 0.12^[10]. In the middle of December 1992 he published version 0.99 using the GNU GPL^[11].

Linux and GNU developers worked to integrate GNU components with Linux to make a fully-functional and free operating system.^[12]

Torvalds has stated, “making Linux GPL'd was definitely the best thing I ever did.”^[13]

GNU/Linux naming controversy

The designation "Linux" was initially used by Torvalds only for the Linux kernel. The kernel was, however, frequently used together with other software, especially that of the GNU project. This quickly became the most popular adoption of GNU software. In June 1994 in GNU's bulletin, Linux was referred to as a "free UNIX clone", and the Debian project began calling its product Debian GNU/Linux. In May 1996, Richard Stallman published the editor Emacs 19.31, in which the type of system was renamed from Linux to Lignux. This spelling was intended to refer specifically to the combination of GNU and Linux, but this was soon abandoned in favor of "GNU/Linux".^[14].

This name garnered varying reactions. The GNU and Debian projects use the name, although most developers simply use the term "Linux" to refer to the combination.

Torvalds announced in 1996 that there would be a mascot for Linux, a penguin. Larry Ewing provided the original draft of today's well known mascot based on this description. The name Tux was suggested by James Hughes as derivative of Torvalds' UniX.^[6]

New development

There are many other well-known maintainers for the Linux kernel beside Torvalds such as Alan Cox and Marcelo Tosatti. Cox maintained version 2.2 of the kernel until it was discontinued at the end of 2003. Likewise, Tosatti maintained version 2.4 of the kernel until the middle of 2006. Andrew Morton steers the development and administration of the 2.6 kernel, which was released on 18 December 2003 in its first stable incarnation. Also the older branches are still constantly improved.

The success of Linux in many areas of application is mostly due to the lack of licensing costs and the characteristics of free software concerning stability, security, expandability and maintenance of leading back. When vulnerabilities do occur, such as the vmsplice() exploit, they are quickly disclosed and patched.^{[citation needed]}

The largest part of the work on Linux is performed by the community: the thousands of programmers around the world that use Linux and send their suggested improvements to the maintainers. Various companies have also helped not only with the development of the Kernels, but also with the writing of the body of auxiliary software, which is distributed with Linux.

It is released both by organized projects such as Debian, and by projects connected directly with companies such as Fedora and openSUSE. The members of the respective projects meet at various conferences and fairs, in order to exchange ideas. One of the largest of these fairs is the LinuxTag in Germany (currently in Berlin), where about 10,000 people assemble annually, in order to discuss Linux and the projects associated with it.

[edit] Open Source Development Lab and Linux Foundation

The Open Source Development Lab (OSDL) was created in the year 2000, and is an independent nonprofit organization which pursues the goal of optimizing Linux for employment in data centers and in the carrier range. It served as sponsored working premises for Linus Torvalds and also for Andrew Morton, until the middle of 2006 when he transferred to Google, which runs on the Linux kernel. Torvalds works full time on behalf the OSDL, developing the Linux Kernels. The noncommercial mechanism of several major companies is financed as Red Hat, Novell, Mitsubishi, Intel, IBM, Dell and HP.

On January 22, 2007, OSDL and the Free Standards Group merged to form The Linux Foundation, narrowing their respective focuses to that of promoting GNU/Linux in competition with Microsoft Windows.^[15]

Despite being open-source, a few companies profit from Linux. These companies, most of which are also members of the Open Source Development Lab, invest substantial resources into the advancement and development of Linux, in order to make it suited for various application areas. This includes hardware donations for driver developers, cash donations for people who develop Linux software, and the employment of Linux programmers at the company. Some examples are IBM and HP, which use Linux on their own servers, and Red Hat, which maintains its own distribution. Likewise Trolltech supports Linux by the development and GPL licensing of Qt, which makes the development of KDE possible, and by employing some of the X and KDE developers.

Controversy over Linux

Linux has been surrounded by controversy repeatedly since its inception.

[edit] "Linux is obsolete"

Main article: Tanenbaum-Torvalds debate

In 1992 Andrew S. Tanenbaum, recognized computer scientist and author of the Minix microkernel system, wrote a Usenet article on the newsgroup comp.os.minix with the title "Linux is obsolete,"^[16] which marked the beginning of a famous debate about the structure of the then-recent Linux kernel. Among the most significant criticisms were that:

The kernel was monolithic and thus old-fashioned.
The lack of portability, due to the use of exclusive features of the Intel 386 processor. "Writing a new operating system that is closely tied to any particular piece of hardware, especially a weird one like the Intel line, is basically wrong."^[17]
There wasn't strict control of the source code by any individual person.^[18]
Linux employed a set of features which were useless (Tanenbaum believed that multithreaded file systems were simply a "performance hack").^[19]

Tanenbaum's prediction that Linux would become outdated within a few years and replaced by GNU Hurd (which he considered to be more modern) proved incorrect. Linux has been ported to all major platforms and its open development model has led to an exemplary pace of development. In contrast, GNU Hurd has not yet reached the level of stability that would allow it to be used on a production server.^[20]

Naturally as a student of Tanenbaum, Torvalds had access to Minix's source code. Brown wrote a section claiming that Torvalds had copied code from MINIX. When Ken Brown was writing his book Samizdat, he interviewed Tanenbaum. Tanenbaum explained that Torvalds had not copied the design of MINIX.

But the code was his. The proof of this is that he messed the design up. MINIX is a nice, modular microkernel system […] Linus rewrote the whole thing as a big monolithic kernel, complete with inline assembly code. The first version of Linux was like a time machine. It went back to a system worse than what he already had on his desk. Of course, he was just a kid and didn’t know better (although if he had paid better attention in class he should have), but producing a system that was fundamentally different from the base he started with seems pretty good proof that it was a redesign. I don’t think he could have copied UNIX because he didn’t have access to the UNIX source code, except maybe John Lions’ book, which is about an earlier version of UNIX that does not resemble Linux so much.

[edit] Competition from Microsoft

Although Torvalds has said that Microsoft's feeling threatened by Linux in the past was of no consequence to him,^[21] the Microsoft and Linux camps had a number of antagonistic interactions between 1997 and 2001. This became quite clear for the first time in 1998, when the first Halloween document was brought to light by Eric S. Raymond. This was a short essay by a Microsoft developer that sought to lay out the threats posed to Microsoft by free software and identified strategies to counter these perceived threats. However the Free Software Foundation issued a statement that Microsoft's production of proprietary software is bad for software users because it denies users "their rightful freedom."^[22]

Competition entered a new phase in the beginning of 2004, when Microsoft published results from customer case studies evaluating the use of Windows vs. Linux under the name “Get the Facts” on its own web page. Based on inquiries, research analysts, and some Microsoft sponsored investigations, the case studies claimed that enterprise use of Linux on servers compared unfavorably to the use of Windows in terms of reliability, security, and total cost of ownership.^[23]

In response, commercial Linux distributors produced their own studies, surveys and testimonials to counter Microsoft's campaign. Novell's web-based campaign at the end of 2004 was entitled “Unbending the truth” and sought to outline the advantages as well as dispelling the widely publicized legal liabilities of Linux deployment. Novell particularly referenced the Microsoft studies in many points. IBM also published a series of studies under the title “The Linux at IBM competitive advantage” to again parry Microsoft's campaign. Red Hat had a campaign called “Truth Happens” aimed at letting the performance of the product speak for itself, rather than advertising the product by studies^{[citation needed]}.

In the autumn of 2006, Novell and Microsoft announced an agreement to co-operate on software interoperability and patent protection. ^[24] This included an agreement that customers of either Novell or Microsoft may not be sued by the other company for patent infringement. This patent protection was also expanded to non-free software developers. The last part was criticized because it only included non-commercial developers.

Main article: SCO-Linux controversies

In March 2003, the SCO Group accused IBM of violating their copyright on UNIX by transferring code from UNIX to Linux. SCO claims ownership of the copyrights on UNIX and a lawsuit was filed against IBM. Red Hat has countersued and SCO has since filed other related lawsuits. At the same time as their lawsuit, SCO began selling Linux licenses to users who did not want to risk a possible complaint on the part of SCO. Since Novell also claims the copyrights to UNIX, it filed suit against SCO.

SCO has since filed for bankruptcy.^[25]

[edit] Trademark rights

In 1994 and 1995, several people from different countries attempted to register the name "Linux" as a trademark. Thereupon requests for royalty payments were issued to several Linux companies, a step with which many developers and users of Linux did not agree. Linus Torvalds clamped down on these companies with help from Linux International and was granted the trademark to the name, which he transferred to Linux International. Protection of the trademark was later administered by a dedicated foundation, the non-profit Linux Mark Institute. In 2000, Linus Torvalds specified the basic rules for the assignment of the licenses. This means that anyone who offers a product or a service with the name Linux must possess a license for it, which can be attained through a unique purchase.

In June 2005, a new controversy developed over the use of royalties generated from the use of the Linux trademark. The Linux Mark Institute, which represents Linus Torvalds' rights, announced a price increase from 500 to 5,000 dollars for the use of the name. This step was justified as being needed to cover the rising costs of trademark protection.

In response to this increase, the community became displeased, which is why Linus Torvalds made an announcement on 21 August 2005, in order to dissolve the misunderstandings. In an e-mail he described the current situation as well as the background in detail and also dealt with the question of who had to pay license costs:

[...] And let’s repeat: somebody who doesn’t want to _protect_ that name would never do this. You can call anything "MyLinux", but the downside is that you may have somebody else who _did_ protect himself come along and send you a cease-and-desist letter. Or, if the name ends up showing up in a trademark search that LMI needs to do every once in a while just to protect the trademark (another legal requirement for trademarks), LMI itself might have to send you a cease-and-desist-or-sublicense it letter.

At which point you either rename it to something else, or you sublicense it. See? It’s all about whether _you_ need the protection or not, not about whether LMI wants the money or not.

[...] Finally, just to make it clear: not only do I not get a cent of the trademark money, but even LMI (who actually administers the mark) has so far historically always lost money on it. That’s not a way to sustain a trademark, so they’re trying to at least become self-sufficient, but so far I can tell that lawyers fees to _give_ that protection that commercial companies want have been higher than the license fees. Even pro bono lawyers charge for the time of their costs and paralegals etc.

1983: Richard Stallman creates the GNU project with the goal of creating a free operating system.
1989: Richard Stallman writes the first version of the GNU General Public License.
1991: The Linux kernel is publicly announced on 25 August by the 21 year old Finnish student Linus Benedict Torvalds. ^[7]
1992: The Linux kernel is relicensed under the GNU GPL. The first so called “Linux distributions” are created.
1993: Over 100 developers work on the Linux kernel. With their assistance the kernel is adapted to the GNU environment, which creates a large spectrum of application types for Linux. The oldest currently existing Linux distribution, Slackware, is released for the first time. Later in the same year, the Debian project is established. Today it is the largest community distribution.
1994: In March Torvalds judges all components of the kernel to be fully matured: he releases version 1.0 of Linux. The XFree86 project contributes a graphic user interface (GUI). In this year the companies Red Hat and SUSE publish version 1.0 of their Linux distributions.
1995: Linux is ported to the DEC Alpha and to the Sun SPARC. Over the following years it is ported to an ever greater number of platforms.
1996: Version 2.0 of the Linux kernel is released. The kernel can now serve several processors at the same time, and thereby becomes a serious alternative for many companies.
1998: Many major companies such as IBM, Compaq and Oracle announce their support for Linux. In addition a group of programmers begins developing the graphic user interface KDE.
1999: A group of developers begin work on the graphic environment GNOME, which should become a free replacement for KDE, which depended on the then proprietary Qt toolkit. During the year IBM announces an extensive project for the support of Linux.
2004: The XFree86 team splits up and joins with the existing X Window standards body to form the X.Org Foundation, which results in a substantially faster development of the X Window Server for Linux.

about:config,kalau kamu benar akan seperti gambar ini
disitu ada tulisan "i'ill be careful,i promise!" klik aja pilihan itu kamu akan masuk jendela tweaks milik firefox,seperti gambar ini
dalam kotak filter kamu pilih file-file berikut ini

  -network.http.pipelining.maxrequests -> 8

untuk merubah statusnya kamu klik 2 x pilihan yang kamu tulis di kotak filter

Dalam artikel saya kali ini akan membahas tentang cara memburning/membakar file .iso dengan bantuan software Nero,sebelumnya download dulu program Nero jika kamu belum punya...
coba disini untuk download (Portable Version)

oke..saya anggap kamu sudah punya program nero,dalam hal ini saya memakai nero 9 portable,jadi tanpa perlu diinstall di hardisk saya,tinggal kapan mo make,dijalankan aja program nero nya..hehehe..mudah kan..:)

Pastikan file .iso yang akan kamu burning dalam keadaan baik,oke kita langsung mulai aja..
pertama jalankan program nero,seperti gambar berikut
setelah itu klik open untuk membuka file .iso kamu,lihat gambar

pilih file .iso kamu,kemudian tekan open,setelah itu akan muncul gambar berikut
disini kamu nentuin berapa kecepatan untuk membakar file.iso kamu kedalam cd,usahan milih kecepatan yang sesuai supaya file dalam cd kamu bisa bertahan lama..
jika sudah klik pilihan burn
secara otomatis nero akan membakar file kamu,lihat gambar
ini adalah proses yang sedang berjalan...tunggu sejenak,sabar yach....:)
jika burning sudah selesai akan tampil konfirmasi seperti berikut

klik ok...dan selamat kamu dah bisa memburning file .iso kesukaan kamu dalam cd kesayangan kamu..
